Health Care & Dental Plan
Eligible employees may elect to participate in Lovin’ Spoonfuls’ health insurance and dental/vision insurance plans. New employees will be eligible for benefits on the date of hire. The health plan is offered to regular employees who work at least 30 hours per week.
Lovin’ Spoonfuls currently offers a variety of health insurance plans through Tufts Healthcare, and dental & vision insurance through United Healthcare. Contributions for coverage for full-time employees are paid 80% by the organization and 20% by the employee.
Flexible Spending Account
Employees are eligible to enroll in an FSA account to set aside pre-tax income for qualified medical expenses. Employees enrolled in an HDHP plan are also eligible to enroll in an HSA account.
Additional Employer Paid Benefits
All Full-Time (30+ hours) Lovin’ Spoonfuls employees are covered by employer-paid Short Term and Long Term disability coverage. This policy, provided by Unum, covers up to 60% of your pay in the event that you are unable to work. Restrictions and time limitations of coverage do apply.
All Full-Time (30+ hours) Lovin’ Spoonfuls employees also receive employer-paid Life Insurance (1x salary up to a max $50,000 benefit) as well as Personal Accident insurance through Cigna.
Lovin' Spoonfuls also offers adoption assistance and an Employee Assistance Program provided by Optum.
Employees have the option to add voluntary Life Insurance coverage, Supplemental Personal Accident Insurance, and/or Supplemental Disability coverage.
Fitness Plan Reimbursement
Employees who submit the appropriate form to their insurance carrier (Tufts or other insurance) should also submit a copy to Lovin’ Spoonfuls management, and we will match the reimbursement, up to $150.
401k Retirement Plan
Employees can elect to participate in a 401k retirement savings account via pre-tax income deductions. Lovin’ Spoonfuls will match 50% of employee contributions, up to 2.5% total.
Employees are eligible for reimbursement for commuting expenses - up to $90 per month. The reimbursement can be used towards a monthly MBTA pass, a BlueBikes membership, or commuter rail pass expenses.
Mobile Phone Expenses
Employees utilizing their own personal mobile phone for work purposes (email, texts, work-related apps, etc.) are eligible for reimbursement for usage of their phone - up to $40 per month.

All full-time or part-time employees will accrue vacation time. Employees accrue 12 days vacation in their first year of employment, increasing to 15 or 20 days (position dependent) in their third year of employment.
Vacation time will carry over from one year to the next up to a maximum of 5 days. Unused vacation time in excess of 5 days will be lost at the end of each calendar year.
Employees accrue 7 days of sick time to be used for illness, care for a sick dependent or spouse, and/or medical and dental appointments.
